    Hiya!

Just wondering how making mistakes affects your score. For instance, say you make a mistake, find it in 30 seconds, and then resubmit and get 100% on your solution. Since both entries were before the points deadline, do you get the full number of points for that round, or lose points for resubmitting?

    Thank you!

[EDIT, Harry: Correcting a mistake within the same points period means you get a better mark!]

Along similar lines, if you get 99.9% in the first points boundary and then resubmit to get 100% in the last points boundary, which one scores higher?

[EDIT, Harry: Higher accuracy beats higher speed every time!]

This is completely random but would you prefer us to decode by hand or using a decoder we find online?

    Thank you.

[EDIT, water_biscuit: If it’s one or the other, decode by hand. But you are in fact allowed to use computers, as long as it is YOU building the decoder. This will be hugely helpful, even if not strictly necessary, once the challenges start getting harder. What isn’t allowed is simply taking tools that someone else wrote and using them. (See Rule 5 of “Submitting your solutions”, here , which says “In submitting an entry solo entrants vouch that it is solely their own work and teams warrant that it is solely their own collective work.” Also note Rule 2 of “Prizes”, which says that when awarding prizes, we “…may ask potential winners for a brief description of their methods and a copy of any programmes they wrote when making the final decision.”)]

There is a mistake where it says ‘you’ instead of ‘your’ in I don’t know weather to write it how it is (you) or to correct it and put your? And will it effect my score?

[Edit; AngusWhite: This has been said already, but decrypt what is there and enter that do not correct it! Sometimes Harry will make mistakes, sometimes he does it on purpose, it is marked to the text as presented so if you correct it the computer making it will see it as wrong.]
